Parc Ferme is French meaning ‘closed parking’.
The Perc Ferme is an area of the F1 paddock where cars are stored after qualifying and having been weighed. Cars may only receive routine maintenance in Parc Ferme until released on the morning of race day.
If a Formula1 team needs to do any major work then the car is withdrawn from the grid standings and must start from the pit-lane. Because of the pit-lane speed limits this is equal to starting from the back of the grid.
